& W provides all its employees the necessary infrastructures and
adapted computerised equipment to properly execute their tasks. The company
occupies a building with a global surface of 30,000 square feet. This area
is organised by functions; (i.e.: machine tools, welding machines, presses,
plastics, polishing and storage)
To
facilitate the communication even inside the company, mural telephones and
portable transmitter-receivers with weak range were placed in strategic
places. In addition to a portable telephone, each foreman and quality
controller also have a walkie-talkie.
In
order to assure a good efficiency of our processes, we have put together a
system of plan identification linked to the order and the drawing numbers
by a bar code system which is connected to the "P & W
Utilities", a unique and effective control software created by our company
in order to follow all the fabrication processes in an optimal way. This
utility allows to generate reports/ratios about the fabrication history of
a product and it is an excellent investigator for quality improvement.
Another
utility such as the report generator "MAXPW" has the history of
all the preceding productions, the cost of the materials, the times for all
operations etc. These analysis always aim at identifying gaps and finding
improvement possibilities.
For a
real-time connectivity and sharing with his customers and partners, the
company has the capacities to create, treat and route CAD drawings (Computer
Assisted Design) with Pro/ENGINEER software that has been built to
place engineers and designers at the centre of the product development
process.
